JLPT N1 short reading: a library notice

The idea

The notice closes the library on Monday. 当日 refers to that Monday, so 翌日 means Tuesday. ただし introduces an exception: audiovisual materials must go to the counter after reopening. なお adds that collection begins Tuesday, although reservations remain available online.

• 施設しせつ点検てんけんのため、図書館としょかんは来週らいしゅう月曜日げつようびに休館きゅうかんします。The library will close next Monday for a facility inspection.
• 返却へんきゃく期限きげんが当日とうじつの資料しりょうは、翌日よくじつまでにお返かえしください。Materials due that day should be returned by the following day.
• ただし、視聴覚しちょうかく資料しりょうは返却へんきゃくポストに入いれないでください。However, do not put audiovisual materials in the return box.
• これらは開館かいかん後ごに窓口まどぐちへお持もちください。Please bring these to the counter after the library reopens.
• 休館きゅうかん中ちゅうも資料しりょうの予約よやくはウェブサイトで受うけ付つけます。Reservations for materials are accepted on the website even while the library is closed.
• なお、予約よやく資料しりょうの受うけ取とりは火曜日かようび以降いこうとなります。Reserved materials can be collected from Tuesday onward.

Watch out

Do not confuse the return deadline with the collection date, or assume the return box accepts every item. This is original practice, not an official JLPT question.
