Following a short narrative sequence

The idea

前に places the book return before the trip; 後で marks the later realization, and てから places the run after collecting the umbrella.

• 昨日きのう、駅えきへ行いく前まえに、図書館としょかんで本ほんを返かえしました。Yesterday, before going to the station, I returned a book at the library.
• 図書館としょかんを出でた後あとで、傘かさを忘わすれたことに気きづきました。After leaving the library, I realized I had forgotten my umbrella.
• そこで、駅えきに向むかう途中とちゅうで図書館としょかんに戻もどりました。So, on the way to the station, I went back to the library.
• 受付うけつけの人ひとが傘かさを預あずかっていました。The person at the desk was keeping my umbrella.
• 傘かさを受うけ取とってから、駅えきまで走はしりました。After collecting it, I ran to the station.
• 電車でんしゃには間まに合あいましたが、駅えきに着つくころには雨あめがやんでいました。I caught the train, but by the time I reached the station the rain had stopped.

Watch out

The umbrella was forgotten before the narrator noticed. The final sentence mentions catching the train before describing weather that had already changed at arrival.
