You will ask a stranger for help, ask where the toilet is and say that something is wrong.
The idea
Ask for help with yardım etmek and put the person who is helped in the dative: Bana yardım eder misiniz? (ben becomes bana, o becomes ona). Ask for a place with nerede: Tuvalet nerede? Report trouble with var: Burada bir sorun var, or Sorunum var for your own. Bana doktor lazım says what you need.
| Pronoun | Dative (to, for) | Example |
|---|---|---|
| ben | bana | Bana yardım edin. |
| sen | sana | Sana yardım ediyorum. |
| o | ona | Ona yardım ediyorum. |
| biz | bize | Bize yardım edin. |
| siz | size | Size yardım ediyorum. |
| onlar | onlara | Onlara yardım ediyoruz. |

Watch out
Do not turn "help me" into a direct object: Beni yardım edin is wrong, because yardım is already the object of etmek. The person helped takes the dative: Bana yardım edin.
Try it yourself
Fill the gap with “me” in the right case: Could you help me?
Show answer or example answer
bana
bana: the person helped is in the dative, and ben becomes bana, not beni.
Fill the gap with o (he, she) in the right case: I am helping him or her.
Show answer or example answer
ona
ona: o takes the dative with a buffer n before the vowel ending, so ona, not oa.
Add the ending for “my”: I have a problem.
Show answer or example answer
sorunum
sorunum: the last vowel of sorun is u, so the ending for "my" is -um, and Sorunum var means that I have a problem.
Fill the gap with the question word: Where is the toilet, please?
Show answer or example answer
nerede
nerede: nerede means where and takes no further ending, so Tuvalet nerede? is the whole question.

Write the three things you would say if you lost your way in a station: a request for help, a question about the toilet and a problem. Check that every word for a person is in the dative.
