Use dergi to talk about a magazine, its contents and its owner. The table brings together the cases and possessives; the examples put them into a small reading routine.
The idea
The stem dergi stays intact, including its final i. Its front vowel gives dergiler, dergide and dergiden. Compare the specific object dergiyi with the possessive dergisi (his/her magazine). When a case follows dergisi, an n appears: dergisinde, dergisini. For several magazines belonging to us, use dergilerimiz.

Watch out
Do not treat dergiyi and dergisi as interchangeable because both end in i. In Bu dergiyi okudum, the magazine is what I read; Onun dergisi masada identifies whose magazine it is. Reading that person’s magazine needs both meanings: Onun dergisini okudum.
