Identify the folder and explain why you need it so your colleague can act on your request.
The idea
Use 開くことができません to say you cannot open it. With 付けていただけますか, politely ask someone to grant access. 見るだけ means viewing only; 編集する権限 specifies editing permission.
Examples
- 共有フォルダーを確認する必要があります。I need to check the shared folder.
- このフォルダーを開くことができません。I cannot open this folder.
- アクセス権を付けていただけますか。Could you grant me access?
- ファイルを見るだけで大丈夫です。I only need to view the files.
- ファイルを編集する権限が必要です。I need permission to edit the files.
- ありがとうございます。今は開けます。Thank you. I can open it now.
Read-aloud uses a synthetic Japanese voice available on your device. Voice quality and availability vary; it does not assess your pronunciation.
No Japanese device voice is available. You can still read the text and use the linked listening resources.
Watch out
Access to view a file does not necessarily include permission to edit it. State the level you need rather than assuming both are included.
