Clarifying a request helps you agree on the work, its audience and delivery date before you begin.
The idea
Use 確認させてください to ask to check details. どのような asks what kind, while いつをご希望ですか asks for a preferred deadline. Restate an assumption with という理解でよろしいでしょうか and invite confirmation.
Examples
Please let me confirm the details of your request.
What kind of material would you like us to prepare?
When would you like it delivered?
Am I correct in understanding that the intended audience is new customers?
Could you give me a specific example?
Then I will send you the proposal by Friday.

Watch out
Do not treat your restatement as an agreed instruction until the client confirms it. までに means by the deadline, including that day; まで alone can also indicate duration.
