Explore asking to swap shifts through polite Japanese examples and practice.

The idea

Name both shifts and ask 交換こうかんしていただけませんか for a polite request. Say which day you cannot work and when you can, then check with the manager before treating the swap as settled.

Watch out

A request is not an agreement. 代かわる can mean covering someone’s shift; 交換こうかん makes a two-way swap clearer. Follow the workplace’s approval process.
