Recount an imagined weekend in order, keeping the diary in polite style.

The idea

Start with 先週末 and use 土曜日 and 日曜日 to orient the reader. Use 行きました for a completed action, and 雨が降ったので to give a reason. 読んだり、料理をしたりしました lists examples of activities, not necessarily every activity or their order; finish with an impression.

Watch out

Do not mix present and past endings for completed events. In たり constructions the final しました carries the polite past; a private diary could use plain forms instead, but these examples use polite endings consistently.
