A roof can be the thing someone repairs, the place a bird lands, or part of a house. Practise choosing the form of çatı that fits each role, including when the owner is named.
The idea
Keep the final dotless ı of çatı: çatıyı marks a specific roof as the object, while çatıya marks a destination. The internal t stays unchanged. For possession, use çatım, çatımız and çatısı. In evin çatısı, the house is the possessor; further case endings follow the possessive with n: evin çatısına, evin çatısında. The plural is çatılar.
