You will add a person ending to the aorist to say who usually does something: I, you, we, you all or they. He, she and it get no ending.
The idea
After the aorist marker comes the person ending: -im (ben), -sin (sen), nothing (o), -iz (biz), -siniz (siz) and -ler/-lar (onlar): gelirim, gelirsin, gelir, geliriz, gelirsiniz, gelirler. The vowel of every ending except -ler/-lar follows the last vowel of the marker in four ways (i ı u ü): yaparım, görürsünüz, okuruz. -ler/-lar has only two: yaparlar.
| Person | Ending | gel- | yap- | gör- | oku- |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| ben | -im / -ım / -um / -üm | gelirim | yaparım | görürüm | okurum |
| sen | -sin / -sın / -sun / -sün | gelirsin | yaparsın | görürsün | okursun |
| o | – | gelir | yapar | görür | okur |
| biz | -iz / -ız / -uz / -üz | geliriz | yaparız | görürüz | okuruz |
| siz | -siniz / -sınız / -sunuz / -sünüz | gelirsiniz | yaparsınız | görürsünüz | okursunuz |
| onlar | -ler / -lar | gelirler | yaparlar | görürler | okurlar |
Examples
- Ben her sabah çay içerim.I drink tea every morning. The ending -im already means “I”, so ben may be dropped: Her sabah çay içerim.
- Sen akşamları kitap okursun. You read books in the evenings.
- Hafta sonları biz geç kalkarız.We get up late at weekends.

- Siz her zaman erken gelirsiniz. You always come early. After the aorist, siz takes -siniz, not the -niz of the past: gelirsiniz, but geldiniz.
- Annem çok güzel yemek yapar. My mother cooks very well. The word o needs no ending: the marker -ar alone already means “she does”. A noun subject like annem works the same way.
- Çocuklar bizde kalır.The children stay with us.A plural noun subject usually does not add -ler to the verb: Çocuklar bizde kalır, not kalırlar.

Watch out
Do not borrow the past endings. After the aorist you say gelirsin, not gelirn, and geliriz, not gelirk; the short -n and -k belong to geldin and geldik. Siz also needs -siniz, not -niz. O has no ending at all, because gelir already means “he/she/it comes”.
Try it yourself
Add the aorist and the person ending for ben to gel (come): I come.
Show answer or example answer
gelirim
gelirim: after the marker -ir, ben takes -im; the last vowel i leaves the ending as it is.
Add the aorist and the person ending for sen to yap (do): you do.
Show answer or example answer
yaparsın
yaparsın: the marker is -ar, sen takes -sin, and the back unrounded vowel a turns it into -sın.
Add the aorist and the person ending for biz to oku (read): we read.
Show answer or example answer
okuruz
okuruz: oku ends in a vowel, so the marker is just -r; the vowel u gives biz the ending -uz.
Add the aorist and the person ending for siz to gör (see): you (all) see.
Show answer or example answer
görürsünüz
görürsünüz: gör has a front rounded vowel, the marker is -ür, and so siz takes -sünüz.
