Follow up on a repair by identifying the job and asking for a realistic update.

The idea

Use について to introduce the repair and お伺いしたいのですが to open politely. まだ〜ていません means a result has not happened yet. 予定 asks about an expectation, and いただけますか softens a request.

Examples

Excuse me, I’d like to ask about the repair I requested last week.
The reference number is 123.
Is the repair still not finished?
The part has not arrived yet.
Could you tell me approximately when it is expected to be finished?
Could you contact me if the schedule changes?

Watch out

An expected date is not a promise. If it changes, ask the shop to contact you rather than assuming the repair is ready.

Try it yourself

    Show answer or example answer

届いて: 届いていません says that the part has not arrived yet; 届けて means delivering something.

    Show answer or example answer

    予定

予定: 終わる予定 asks when completion is expected; 理由 asks for a reason.

    Show answer or example answer

    たら

たら: 変わったら means “if it changes”; 変わっても means “even if it changes”.
