一方で presents another side of a situation, often in a measured comparison of trends or characteristics.

The idea

Attach 一方で to a plain verb or い-adjective, or use な after a な-adjective and である after a noun. It can also begin a separate sentence. The two sides need a meaningful contrast, even when both numbers rise.
