A comforting reply does more than tell someone to stop feeling something. Here you will choose a familiar phrase and add a reason to feel supported. All dialogues are original learning examples.
The idea
Use ağlama for “don’t cry”, korkma for “don’t be afraid” and üzülme for “don’t be upset”. These address one person you call sen. Merak etme and endişelenme both reassure someone who is worried; here merak etme means “don’t worry”, not “don’t be curious”. Follow the phrase with support such as ben senin yanındayım (I am by your side) or a concrete fact such as anahtar bende (I have the key).

Watch out
A bare ağlama or üzülme can sound like an order to stop showing feelings. A gentle tone and a supportive follow-up matter. Sorun değil works for the small mishap in the glass dialogue; do not treat it as a universal reply to someone’s distress.
Try it yourself
A friend is crying. Choose the phrase about tears: ağlama, korkma or üzülme.
Show answer or example answer
Ağlama
Ağlama fits because the cue is crying. Üzülme addresses sadness more broadly, but does not specifically ask someone to stop crying.
A friend is afraid of the dark. Choose the phrase about fear: ağlama, korkma or üzülme.
Show answer or example answer
Korkma
Korkma matches fear of the dark. Adding ben de geliyorum offers company instead of merely telling the person to change their feelings.
The picnic is cancelled. A friend feels sad but is not crying or afraid. Choose: ağlama, korkma or üzülme.

Üzülme
Üzülme addresses disappointment about the cancelled picnic. There is no crying or fear in this situation, so the other two choices miss the cue.
You have the key. Write either expression from the lesson meaning “don’t worry” before anahtar bende.

Merak etme / Endişelenme
Merak etme / Endişelenme: both fit concern about the key. Anahtar bende supplies the missing fact: the speaker has it, so the reassurance has a reason.

Write two original two-line exchanges: comfort someone who is afraid, then someone who is worried about a lost object. Add a concrete reassurance to each. Next, continue with the lesson on missing and loving.
