You will say goodbye with a time attached and tell a casual “see you” from a real suggestion to meet.
The idea
Görüşürüz means “we will see each other”: gör- (see) + -üş- (each other) + -ür- (aorist) + -üz (we). Put a time word in front and the goodbye carries a time: yarın görüşürüz, pazartesi görüşürüz, haftaya görüşürüz. In a formal setting, görüşmek üzere closes a call or an email.
| Time word | Sentence |
|---|---|
| yarın | Yarın görüşürüz. |
| akşama | Akşama görüşürüz. |
| pazartesi | Pazartesi görüşürüz. |
| haftaya | Haftaya görüşürüz. |
| sonra | Sonra görüşürüz. |
| yine | Yine görüşürüz. |
Examples
- Yarın okulda görüşürüz.See you at school tomorrow.
- Pazartesi görüşürüz, Elif.See you Monday, Elif.
- Şimdi çıkıyorum, sonra görüşürüz.I'm heading out now, see you later.
- Haftaya görüşürüz.See you next week.Haftaya is hafta (week) plus the dative -ya, literally “to the week”; the whole word is the usual way to say next week.

- Yarın görüşelim mi?Shall we meet tomorrow?Görüşelim is a suggestion (“let's meet”), and mi makes it a real question; görüşürüz would only say that you will meet.
- Görüşmek üzere.Until we meet again.Görüşmek üzere is the formal closing you hear on the phone or read at the end of an email; görüşmek stays an infinitive, so it has no person ending.
- Akşama görüşürüz.See you this evening.
- Yine görüşürüz.We'll see each other again.

Watch out
Görüşürüz is a warm goodbye, not an appointment. To arrange a real meeting, suggest it with görüşelim (“let's meet”): Yarın görüşelim mi? Someone who only says sonra görüşürüz has not agreed on anything yet.
Try it yourself
Suggest a plan, “let's meet tomorrow”: Yarın ___.
Show answer or example answer
görüşelim

görüşürüz
görüşürüz: the casual “see you” is the aorist with -üz (“we”); after ö every ending carries the rounded front vowel ü.
Complete the formal farewell “until we meet again”: Görüşmek ___.

üzere
üzere: görüşmek üzere is the fixed formal phrase; görüşmek stays an infinitive and üzere follows it as a separate word.
Turn the suggestion into a question, “shall we meet tomorrow?”: Yarın görüşelim ___?
Show answer or example answer
mi
mi: the question particle stands apart and follows the last vowel of görüşelim, which is i, so it is mi, never mı or mu.
