Learn the words in university enrolment and course-selection messages. The examples and screen message are fictional language practice, not instructions for admission.
The idea
Learn the noun with its verb: kayıt yaptırmak means to enrol, ders seçmek to choose courses, and ders almak to take courses, not buy them. In üniversite kaydı and ders kaydı, the first word tells you what the registration concerns. Öğrenci işleri names the student affairs office; danışman onayı names approval from an academic adviser. These are different kinds of information in a message.

Watch out
Do not read başvurum tamamlandı as confirmation of enrolment: it says that the application is complete. Likewise, ders seçimi names course selection, whereas danışman onayı bekleniyor says that approval is still pending.

Complete: I want to enrol at university. Üniversiteye kayıt ___ istiyorum. (yaptırmak / seçmek)
Show answer or example answer
yaptırmak
yaptırmak completes the expression for having your enrolment carried out. Seçmek would mean choosing, which does not express the intended action here.
Complete: I am taking two elective courses this semester. Bu dönem iki seçmeli ders ___. (alıyorum / yazıyorum)
Show answer or example answer
alıyorum
alıyorum fits because the speaker is taking two courses this semester. Yazıyorum would describe writing, not attending courses.
Choose the word for writing to the student affairs office about a document. Belge hakkında soru sormak için öğrenci ___ mesaj yazıyorum. (işlerine / derslerine)
Show answer or example answer
işlerine
işlerine identifies the office receiving the message: öğrenci işlerine. Derslerine would refer to courses and would not name that office.
A practice screen says that adviser approval is pending. Has approval been completed? Ekranda “Danışman onayı bekleniyor” yazıyor. Onay tamamlandı mı? (hayır / evet)
Show answer or example answer
hayır
hayır: the word bekleniyor means that something is being awaited. The screen therefore reports pending approval, not completed approval.
