Follow Derya through a move that keeps slipping behind schedule. First read for the practical problems; then return to the notebook at the beginning and end to trace a change in her priorities.
The idea
Interpret the ending by comparing the original schedule with the new notebook entry. An unfinished job does not by itself mean a failed day. Link the help offered by the neighbours to the breakfast note, and distinguish an intention from an event that has already happened.

Watch out
In kitaplar raflara dizilecekti, shelving the books belongs to the original plan, not the completed events. Likewise, the final breakfast note is an intention: it does not say that the neighbours have already eaten together.
Try it yourself
Why did they carry the furniture up the stairs? Answer with two Turkish words describing the lift’s condition.
Show answer or example answer
asansör bozuktu / asansör çalışmıyordu
asansör bozuktu / asansör çalışmıyordu: the lift is out of order when they arrive. The truck’s delay changes the timetable, but it does not explain why they must use the stairs.
What came out of the blue box? Copy the plural noun from the story.
Show answer or example answer
ayakkabılar
ayakkabılar: shoes come out when the blue box is opened. The tool bag was beside that box in the old home and was left behind; expecting tools is not evidence that they were packed.
When did the sofa fit through the doorway? Choose: ayakları sökülünce / kapı değiştirilince.
Show answer or example answer
ayakları sökülünce
ayakları sökülünce: removing the sofa’s legs makes it fit. The borrowed screwdriver and the screws on the plate support this answer; nobody replaces the door.
What intention does the final notebook entry suggest? Choose: komşularını ağırlamak / yeniden taşınmak.
Show answer or example answer
komşularını ağırlamak
komşularını ağırlamak: the Saturday breakfast note follows the neighbours’ help. It suggests that she intends to welcome them into her home, even though most boxes remain unopened.
