A colleague suggests going out for lunch, but you still have work to do. Practise an invitation, a short delay and an agreed return time in an original workplace exchange.
The idea
Use Yemeğe çıkalım mı? to propose going out for a meal together; here it is lunch. Çıkalım includes the speaker and the colleague, and the separately written mı asks for agreement. For a break, use Mola verelim mi? Accept with Olur, or suggest later with Şimdi işim var, sonra çıkalım mı?

Watch out
Beş dakika mola verelim gives the length of the break: five minutes. Beş dakika sonra mola verelim says when it starts: in five minutes. Leaving out sonra changes the plan, even though both sentences are grammatical.
Try it yourself
Yemeğe çıkalım ___? Complete the invitation: shall we go out for lunch? Choose mı or mi.
Show answer or example answer
mı
mı: the last vowel of çıkalım is the dotless ı, so this question takes mı, written separately. You are asking the colleague to agree to going together.
Suggest a shared five-minute break. Use vermek: Beş dakika mola ___ mi?
Show answer or example answer
verelim
verelim: the speaker proposes a break for both people. The stem ver- takes -elim; veriyorum would describe what I am doing instead of making this shared proposal.
Say “in ten minutes”, not “now”: Şimdi değil, on dakika ___ çıkalım.
Show answer or example answer
sonra
sonra: the colleagues will leave after ten minutes have passed. Without this word, the number would not express the intended delay.
Add the ending to the noun yemek: ___ çıkalım mı? (Shall we go out for lunch?)
Show answer or example answer
yemeğe
yemeğe: here yemek is a noun meaning a meal. The dative -e links the meal to going out, and final k softens to ğ before that vowel.

In pairs, act out four turns: invite a colleague to lunch, suggest leaving ten minutes later, accept, and propose returning at one. Then change the delay and the return time.
