A caller leaves a message for Ms Tanaka. Ask for repetition, check the details, and say you will pass it on.

The idea

聞こえませんでした reports that you could not hear; もう一度お願いします politely asks for repetition. Repeat a detail with ですか to check it, then use 伝えます to say you will pass the message on.

Examples

Sorry, I couldn’t hear that well.
Could you say that once more?
Is the meeting at three tomorrow?
Is the place the station?
I’ll tell Ms Tanaka that.
Thank you. Goodbye.

Read-aloud uses a synthetic Japanese voice available on your device. Voice quality and availability vary; it does not assess your pronunciation.

Watch out

Do not assume an unclear time or place. Repeat what you think you heard as a question and wait for confirmation before passing it on.
