Ask a shop to explain its return conditions before deciding what to do.

The idea

返品 means returning an item; 返金 means getting money back, and 交換 means exchanging it. 教えていただけますか politely asks for an explanation. いつまで asks for the deadline.

Examples

Excuse me, could you explain the conditions for returns?
Until when is a refund possible?
Is a receipt required?
Can I return an opened product too?
How can I receive the refund?
An exchange is possible, but a refund is not.

Watch out

A return does not automatically mean a refund. Conditions vary, so ask about opened items and the payment method.
