At the door or in a message the next day, Beni ağırladığınız için teşekkür ederim thanks someone for having you as a guest. The focus is their hospitality, not simply the invitation.
The idea
Use ağırladığın için with someone you address as sen, and ağırladığınız için with siz, whether one person politely or several people. Here the ending on ağırladığınız identifies the host; beni means the guest is “me”, and bizi means “us”. The ending of teşekkür ederim identifies the person giving thanks; a group speaking together can use teşekkür ederiz. The noun phrase misafirperverliğiniz için means “for your hospitality” and suits a more formal thank-you. Davet ettiğiniz için thanks someone for inviting you; it does not by itself say that the visit has happened.
Examples
- Beni evinizde ağırladığınız için çok teşekkür ederim.Thank you very much for having me in your home.
- Dün bizi ağırladığın için teşekkür ederiz.Thank you for hosting us yesterday.
- Misafirperverliğiniz için size teşekkür etmek istiyorum.I would like to thank you for your hospitality.
- Beni davet ettiğiniz için teşekkür ederim.Thank you for inviting me.
- Bizi iki gece misafir ettiğiniz için teşekkür ederiz.Thank you for having us as guests for two nights.
- Beni ağırladığın için sağ ol, çok güzel bir akşamdı.Thanks for having me; it was a lovely evening.

Watch out
Do not choose ağırladığım için just because you are saying “I thank you”: that form makes you the host. In this expression, ağırladığınız points to what the other person did, while ederim points to your thanks. Keep için separate.
Try it yourself
Thank one host politely using siz. Complete the hosting clause with the form of ağırlamak taught here.

ağırladığınız
ağırladığınız: the recipient hosted you and is addressed as siz. The guest is already identified by beni, so a first-person ending would reverse the roles.
Several guests thank one friend they call sen. Complete the hosting clause with ağırlamak.

ağırladığın
ağırladığın: you address one friend as sen. Having several guests, expressed by bizi, does not change the way you address that friend.
Write “your hospitality” for siz, starting from misafirperverlik.

misafirperverliğiniz
misafirperverliğiniz: this is the host’s hospitality. Adding the possessive ending to misafirperverlik changes final k to ğ before the vowel.
The whole group says “we thank you”. Complete teşekkür etmek in the same tense as teşekkür ederim.

ederiz
ederiz: the prompt has the whole group giving thanks. Bizi names those who were hosted, but it is biz that fixes the subject of the thank-you here.
