Use birleştirmek when a person, tool or design brings separate things together. The table gives first-person forms; the examples extend the verb to files, materials and ideas.
The idea
Birleştirmek takes an object: iki dosyayı birleştirmek. To name the other element, use ile: ahşabı metalle birleştirmek. The stem is birleştir-; its final r stays in birleştiriyorum, birleştirdim and birleştiririm. In birleştireceğim, the future ending’s k becomes ğ before the person ending. Questions keep the particle separate: birleştirir misiniz?

Watch out
Birleşmek describes things coming together; birleştirmek names an action performed on them. Compare Parçalar birleşti with Parçaları birleştirdik. Do not use Parçaları birleştik: the object requires the transitive verb here.

metalle / metal ile: metal is the second material in the combination. The attached form has two consecutive l letters: the noun’s final consonant and the start of -le.
