Gizlemek can hide an object from sight or keep information and feelings from being noticed. You will identify what is concealed, from whom, and whether the subject hides something or hides themselves.
The idea
Use a specific object in the accusative and the person kept unaware in the ablative: bir şeyi birinden gizlemek. The stem gizle- gives gizliyorum, but keeps its final e in gizledim and gizleyeceğim. The aorist is gizlerim; compare its negative gizlemem with the continuous negative gizlemiyorum. The table shows explicit plural endings for onlar; singular verb forms are also possible with this subject.

Watch out
Beni gizliyor means “hides me”; benden gizliyor means “hides something from me”. For hiding oneself, use gizlenmek or kendini gizlemek: çocuk gizlendi. Saklamak overlaps with gizlemek when something is hidden, but can also mean keeping something for later without concealing it.
