Follow a small research project from its question to its results. You will name what researchers collect, what they test and what their findings allow them to say.
The idea
Learn the research words with their verbs: araştırma yapmak or araştırma yürütmek means to conduct research, veri toplamak to collect data, and hipotezi sınamak to test the hypothesis. Bulgu is a finding; sonuç can be a result or a conclusion. When describing findings, desteklemek says they support an idea, while kanıtlamak makes the stronger claim that they prove it.

Watch out
In this research context, deney is an experiment you carry out; deneyim is experience you gain. To describe five years of accumulated experience, use beş yıllık deneyim. Knowing how to work in a laboratory does not mean you have already done a particular experiment.
Try it yourself
Complete with data, not a hypothesis: Ekip her gün ___ topluyor.
Show answer or example answer
veri
veri: daily collection produces observations or measurements to analyse. A hypothesis is the idea being tested, not the material collected each day.
Choose experience or an experiment: Bu alanda beş yıllık ___ kazandım.
Show answer or example answer
deneyim
deneyim: the five-year period describes accumulated knowledge and skill, so deneyim kazandım fits. It does not count five years of a single experiment.
The findings fit the hypothesis, but are not conclusive proof. Choose destekliyor or kanıtlıyor: Bulgular hipotezi ___.
Show answer or example answer
destekliyor
destekliyor: the prompt explicitly says there is no conclusive proof. Kanıtlıyor would claim more than these findings establish.
Give a verb meaning “to test”: hipotezi ___. Use an infinitive.

sınamak / test etmek
sınamak / test etmek: both mean testing whether the hypothesis holds. Testing may support or challenge it; the verb does not promise a positive result.
