Describe a school day or university studies with words for people, courses and assignments. Learn the expressions as whole units so you can say what someone studies, how they prepare and what happened in an exam.
The idea
Choose the expression for the activity: ders çalışmak means studying or revising lessons, while üniversitede okumak means being a university student. In tarih okumak, history is the subject of study; okumak does not only mean reading a text. Keep exam expressions together with their noun endings: sınava girmek for taking an exam, sınavı geçmek for passing it. In this context, bölüm names a department or field of study, and dönem a term.

Watch out
Taking an exam does not tell us the result. Sınava girdim can be followed by ama sınavı geçemedim: I took it, but could not pass. Also, üniversitede çalışmak normally describes working at a university; it does not by itself say that you are a student there.
