Use おかげで to credit a cause for a welcome outcome and せいで to blame it for an unwelcome one.

The idea

Put の after a noun, な after a な-adjective, or use the plain form of a verb or い-adjective before either expression. The result follows で; tense belongs to the cause clause.

Watch out

The choice expresses the speaker’s judgment, not an objective rule. せいで can sound accusatory about a person; sarcasm can reverse the usual positive sense of おかげで.
