A proposal helps readers understand a problem and decide what to do. This example suggests shorter meetings.

The idea

State the goal with ため, describe the current problem and give a concrete observation. Use そこで to introduce a response, then specify a trial and how to evaluate it. したうえで means a decision follows a completed check. Close by asking for feedback politely.

Examples

To shorten meetings, I propose sharing materials in advance.
Currently, explaining the materials takes a lot of time.
At last month’s meetings, explanations took 30 minutes on average.
I therefore propose sending the materials by the day before each meeting and collecting questions.
First, we will try this for one month and compare meeting times.
After also checking the preparation workload, I would like to decide whether to continue.
I would appreciate your feedback on this proposal.

Watch out

Do not present an expected benefit as a proven result. The 30-minute figure is an illustrative observation; the trial must measure both meeting time and preparation workload. Keep the proposal and the request distinct.
