Use bütçe to discuss a project’s spending plan or available funds. You will distinguish the budget itself, money allocated to it and the budget belonging to a particular project.
The idea
The stem bütçe stays intact: bütçeyi, bütçeye, bütçede, bütçeden, bütçenin. Its final e determines the suffix vowel. Learn the useful contrast bütçeye (to the budget) and projenin bütçesine (to the project’s budget): the latter keeps the possessive -si and adds -ne. The plural is bütçeler; our budgets are bütçelerimiz.

Watch out
Do not carry the y of bütçeye over to bütçesi: the form meaning “to its budget” is bütçesine. Also, the internal ç does not soften; the stem ends in a vowel, so write bütçeyi with the stem unchanged.
