Reading Turkish job adverts: requirements and duties

The idea

Read aranan nitelikler as the qualities sought in applicants and görevler as the work to be done. In bilgisayar kullanabilen adaylar, the phrase before adaylar describes people who can use a computer. Şarttır marks a requirement; şart değildir removes that requirement. Tercih sebebidir presents an advantage, while son başvuru tarihi introduces the application deadline.

Watch out

Do not turn a preference into a requirement: İngilizce bilmek tercih sebebidir does not say English is compulsory. Also, deneyim şart değildir says experience is not required; it does not say experienced applicants are unwanted. Read the qualification together with the phrase that follows it.
