Use düzenlemek to arrange files, reshape a text or organize an event. The object tells you which meaning fits. The table gives forms for “I”; the examples also show a completed event in the passive.
The idea
Düzenlemek takes an object: dosyaları düzenlemek means arranging the files, while bir sergi düzenlemek means organizing an exhibition. The stem is düzenle-; compare düzenliyorum, with vowel narrowing, and düzenleyeceğim, with a linking y. In Atölye düzenlendi, the workshop becomes the subject and its organizers are left unnamed.

Watch out
Do not treat düzenlemek and düzeltmek as interchangeable. Metni düzenlemek can involve rearranging its sections; yazım hatasını düzeltmek specifically removes a spelling error. Editing may include correction, but organizing an exhibition does not mean correcting it.

düzenleyeceğiz
düzenleyeceğiz: the exhibition is next month and the organizers are “we”. A linking y follows the stem, and the future ending’s k becomes ğ before -iz.

düzelttim
düzelttim: the object is a spelling error, and the prompt asks specifically for correcting it. The past ending starts with t after the stem düzelt-, so both instances of t remain.
Use the passive past: a workshop was held in the library last week. Do not name the organizers.
