Practise a short workplace presentation about two fictional designs. Tell listeners what comes next, explain your conclusion, then make it clear when they can ask questions. The examples give you phrases to adapt, not a speech to memorise.

The idea

Guide the audience with phrases that name the stage of your talk: önce introduces the first point, ardından the next, and son olarak the final item. Use özetle to restate the main message briefly. Sonuç olarak introduces a conclusion drawn from what you have explained. Close with thanks and Şimdi sorularınızı alabilirim to open the question period.

Watch out

Do not treat son olarak and sonuç olarak as interchangeable ways to say “finally”. A timetable added as your last topic takes son olarak. A choice justified by the costs can follow sonuç olarak. The distinction is the job the sentence does, not simply its position on the last slide.

Try it yourself

  1. Welcome your listeners at the start. Sunumuma ___. (hoş geldiniz / güle güle)

    Show answer or example answer

    hoş geldiniz

hoş geldiniz welcomes the people who have come to listen. Güle güle is said to someone leaving, so it would dismiss the audience at the opening.

  2. Announce the last topic in the plan, not a conclusion. Önce tasarımları tanıtacağım. Ardından maliyetleri karşılaştıracağım. ___ uygulama takviminden söz edeceğim. (Son olarak / Sonuç olarak)

    Show answer or example answer

    Son olarak

Son olarak fits because the timetable is the last topic in the announced sequence. The speaker is adding an item, not drawing a conclusion from evidence.

  3. Draw a conclusion from the comparison, rather than adding a topic. İki seçenek de aynı ihtiyacı karşılıyor. İkinci seçeneğin maliyeti daha düşük. ___ ikinci seçenek daha uygun. (Son olarak / Sonuç olarak)

    Show answer or example answer

    Sonuç olarak

Sonuç olarak connects the recommendation to the preceding comparison: equal suitability and lower cost justify choosing the second design.

  4. The presentation has finished. Thank the audience for having listened. Beni ___ için teşekkür ederim. (dinlediğiniz / dinleyeceğiniz)

    Show answer or example answer

    dinlediğiniz

dinlediğiniz refers to the audience listening to the talk just delivered. Dinleyeceğiniz would refer to listening still to come, which does not match these closing thanks.

Use it today

Prepare a one-minute presentation comparing two imaginary designs. Welcome the audience, announce two sections, give one reason for your choice and thank the listeners. Use both son olarak and sonuç olarak for different purposes, then invite a question.
