The idea

Put the purpose in the subject line, then add a greeting and a brief reason for meeting. Propose a date and time with sizin için uygun mu? Use uygun değilse to introduce an alternative only if the first option does not work. Finish by asking for confirmation with teyit edebilir misiniz?, thanking the reader and signing your name. Keep polite siz forms throughout.

Konu: Seramik kursu hakkında görüşme talebi

Merhaba,

Seramik kursunuzla ilgileniyorum. Randevuyu e-postayla teyit edebilir misiniz? Yanıtınız için şimdiden teşekkür ederim.

Saygılarımla, Deniz

Read-aloud uses a synthetic Turkish voice available on your device. Voice quality and availability vary; it does not assess your pronunciation.

Watch out

Ben öğleden sonra müsaitim states your availability; it does not mean that the other person has agreed. Avoid ending with a definite arrival announcement before they reply. Ask whether the time suits them. Also distinguish görüşebilir miyim? (may I meet?) from görüşebilir misiniz? (can you meet?).

Try it yourself

  1. Complete the question: may I meet with you on Tuesday?

    Show answer or example answer

    miyim

miyim: the writer asks whether they themselves may meet, so the question carries the first-person ending. Misiniz would ask about the recipient. Write görüşebilir miyim as separate words.

  2. Choose the word meaning “if it is not”: the proposed time may not work.

    Show answer or example answer

    değilse

değilse: the second time is needed only if the first is unsuitable. Değil alone would state that the time is unsuitable instead of leaving that decision open.

  3. Add “also”: Thursday is another possible day.

    Show answer or example answer

    de

de: Thursday is added to the available days. This separate word means “also”; its vowel follows the final vowel of günü. It is not a location ending.

  4. Complete the request for confirmation, not cancellation.

    Show answer or example answer

    teyit

teyit: the writer wants the recipient to confirm the arrangement in writing. İptal would ask to cancel it, reversing the purpose of the email.

Use it today

Write a 70–90-word email asking to discuss a course. Include a subject, greeting, purpose, exact date and time, a conditional alternative, a confirmation request and a closing. Check that the reader can reply with a clear yes or another time.
